I have a 1972 Beetle, that was purchased as part of a competition that ended up not being launched, which we are now looking to sell. In June 2007 the following work took place on the car:
Quality bodywork with metal flake paintwork (black with sparkles all over it/definitely one of a kind!). The car has had a thorough restoration with panel and panel alignment. The new interior has had a new carpet and features a Sony MEX-DV1000 multi disc player and a Sony XVM-RTS monitor (ceiling mounted). The mechanics include a complete new disc break assemblies,KYB front and rear shock absorbers, new rear break assemblies, lowered rear suspension and new alloy wheels and tyres. The engine has been replaced with a 1600 unit and this conversion coupled to the disc conversion has been carried out to factory specs. Other than needing a new battery it runs fine.
It was declared as SORN in March 08 and the MOT expired in feb of this year. Current Mileage is 28906. It was valued in June 07 @ £13,000 just to give you an idea of the quality of car.
Other than a few rust bubbles and needing a new battery as it hasnt been used since Feb, the car is fine
