COURSE CONTENT
APE Media’s radio drama course is designed to be a comprehensive and flexible introduction. Students will explore the theory behind radio drama, using the radio ‘space’, character, plot and narrative, microphone, voice and recording techniques, editing and serialisation.
Students will devise, script, record and edit a radio drama, although the precise nature of the drama will be decided by the students. Past products have included serialised soap opera’s, poetry and comedies.
Editing, audience manipulation and sound/special effects will be introduced and explored, and all students will receive copies of the work produced. The recordings will all take place in a professional studio, and there is the possibility of the final products being aired on one of a number of community radio stations that APE works with in the future.
